The story behind Weather Fine

From a hobby project
to today.

Weather Fine began as a personal hobby project, a way to explore new technologies and try different ideas. Its first releases were part of that process of learning and experimentation. Over time, this small project became a weather app that found a place in people’s everyday lives.

2017 brought an unexpected turning point for Weather Fine. The app was selected as Apple’s Editors’ Choice and featured at the top of the list four times that year. It also spent a long period among the top 10 apps in the weather category. Seeing a personal project reach this point, and the response from its users, made the journey especially meaningful to us.

That interest also brought a valuable lesson. Running on limited resources, the hobby project’s servers could not keep up with the unexpected demand, leading to outages. What we learned during that time shaped our approach to infrastructure and the app’s development in later releases.

Today, Weather Fine returns with the help of evolving technologies. With the same curiosity and enthusiasm that started it all, we continue the journey of making weather information a clear and useful part of everyday life.

Yes. Search for a city and save the places you want to follow. Switch between saved cities to check local weather and compare forecasts for home or a destination.

Do I need to share my location?

Location access lets Weather Fine show the forecast for where you are. You can also search for a city yourself, and change location permission at any time in your device settings.

Is Weather Fine available for my phone?

Weather Fine is available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. Visit your store for current device requirements and availability.

How should I use the forecast?

Use it as a guide for everyday plans. Weather can change, especially further ahead, so check again before heading out. For severe weather and safety decisions, follow your local meteorological authority.
